2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend at the WDW Resort

All event volunteers serve as part of the Volunteer Ambassador Team supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna at Walt Disney World® Resort! runDisney is thrilled to make an independent donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna. Your registration and participation in the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna will not affect the amount donated by runDisney to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This organization is dedicated to the fight against blood cancers. With the yearly support of thousands of volunteers, the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Weekend has helped Team In Training® (TNT) raise millions of dollars for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. TNT, the world's largest endurance sports training program, supports The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by raising funds to aid the organization's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Volunteer positions are available from Wednesday, January 9 through January 13, 2019. The Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, however, some locations have an age requirement of 16 or 18 years of age. Volunteer Ambassador Team members at the 2019 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend will receive one commemorative piece of apparel for the event (sizes are not guaranteed) and one snack per shift (snacks are typically provided at the start of your shift. If you have special dietary needs, please plan accordingly.)
Volunteer Ambassador Team opportunities will generally be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Although every effort will be made to accommodate your selection, the scheduling office reserves the right to schedule volunteers based on event needs, which includes placing volunteers on a waiting list. You will receive a confirmed volunteer schedule of the opportunities for which you have been scheduled closer to the event. Confirmations will be mailed approximately 30 days prior to the event or emailed after that and will include further information on times, parking location, and other details.
As a potential volunteer at this prescribed event, you should be aware that the tasks requested of a volunteer may include some sort of physical exertion which could include, but not limited to, standing for long periods of time, walking moderate distances, and lifting up to 20 pounds or more. You may also be exposed to the weather and its elements and should prepare by bringing your own apparel or protective items such as coats, hats, or sunglasses. If you may need certain snacks or liquids for specific dietary needs, you should prepare by bringing your own items to meet those needs.
